DivXLand Media Subtitler is a free and widely used utility that allows you to create subtitles in almost any language and directly from scratch, that is, from any plain text file. It also opens nearly 30 well-known subtitle file formats, including SUB, SRT and TXT. Besides, it offers you all the functionality you need to fix and resynchronize subtitle files with any media supported by the Windows Media Player 9 series.
You can either write your subtitles directly on Media Subtitler or you can import an already existing subtitle file. Either way, DivXLand Media Subtitler makes it easier for you to create you own subtitle stream for any AVI, MPEG, WMV or MKV video file. It includes an important number of functions for defining the layout of your subtitles, the timing, etc., and it also interacts seamlessly with other applications installed in your system, like VirtualDub (to embed your subtitles in the original video file), or Microsoft Word’s spell checker.
Designed as a four-step process, to add your subtitles you need to create the text, synchronize it with the video and the audio, preview your work, and save the final subtitle file in the format of your choice. Once the dialogues are written down in their boxes, synchronizing them with the video is as simple as clicking and holding a button while the line is being spoken in the movie. Then, preview your work, polish it, and finally save the subtitles with the right timing in the text format you prefer.
DivXLand Media Subtitler can also be used to synchronize already existing subtitle files. You can set automatic delays or re-synchronize some of the lines manually. |
